Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho

Another good book. it tells the story of Maria, born innocent and virgin, who wanted to start her life with "once upon a timr" like all other fairy tales did but ended up being a prostitute in her path of finding true love.

as a prostitute, she endured eleven minutes of spreading her legs open, faking moans and orgasm, until her sustomer is satisfied, thinking that no one in this world gives sex the respect it truly deserves.

there are a lot of things that are likeable about Maria; her determination, will, frankness, dremas and she was never ashamed of her profession, which is quite surprising. but unlike other prostitutes, who are labeled "stupid", she fed herself with information by visiting the library in her spare time, and even learned to speak the tongue of that foreign city, which fate brought her to--- French. but like any other prostitues, she, too, dreamedof a compatible life back home, giving back to her parents whate they deserve, living with her Prince Charming and children.

the book is like a good eye-opener to harsh reality. that many people, no matter how accomplished, are lonely: executives, businessmen are willing to pay concubines every night just for companionship and the pleasure they never get at home; that pain and suffering are unavoidable in this life, and sometimes, the only reason they exist is to hurt us; that the people we love come and go; and that waiting for "the one" may take an eternity.

but love came in the person of Ralf hart and he erased her anxiety and bitterness and taught Maria everything she wanted to know. he offered her love that saved her frokm becoming a cold, wretched woman.

once upon a time, there was a prostitue called maria. and after discovering the world, taking risks, overcoming adventures and finding her true love, nothing better can describe her story than a happy ending.
